Floriańska, Kraków, Poland
The gate opens an unforgettable perspective on Floriańska Street and the Royal Route. Until the 1950s, a narrow-gauge tram passed through it. Its name comes from the nearby church of St. Florian. It was the main of the seven gates leading to the city. The gate was also called Porta Gloriae, or the Gate of Glory, because it opened the Royal Route (Via Regia). The route of the coronation and funeral processions of monarchs ran through here.
