The House of Baron Steingel, also known as Podgorsky House (named after its owner), was built in 1896-1897 in a neo-Gothic style as a rental property. If you'd like to enter the house, you must book a tour in advance. Otherwise, you can only visit the Museum of Icons located on the building's ground floor, which is free to enter. During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore one of the 10-room apartments that were originally rented out. The balcony offers an outstanding view of the Golden Gate. Situated in downtown Kyiv, near the Golden Gate (which you'll likely visit as well), the House of Baron Steingel is one of the city's most romantic and mysterious buildings. This architectural gem stands out in Kyiv’s landscape. Additionally, you can book a charming and authentic room for a traditional tea ceremony in the bay window, creating a memorable experience.
